What the studio holds

What we see when you visit

When you open our site or an invite, we see your IP address and an approximate location (the country, and the city and region where your network provider's data allows), the page you opened and the time. We use it to understand how people reach the product and to spot abuse. It is shown to our team in a private internal channel on our messaging provider, and it appears in our server logs. We keep it only as long as we need it for those purposes. We do not sell it, and we do not use it to identify you by name. This applies to anyone who opens an invite, including guests, whether or not they are signed in.

How long it is kept

Customer media is kept for as long as the account exists. Closing the account removes it at once, except what a delivered invite still needs to keep resolving for the guests holding its link. A sample already carried into a training corpus is kept five years from the export that made it.

Improving the models

Media is used to improve the models only when Helping the models improve is turned on on the account page. It is off unless the account holder turns it on. Anonymisation severs the link between the material and the account; it does not make a face unrecognisable. Turning it on or off is prospective — an anonymised sample already in a corpus carries no link back to the account, so nothing can find it to remove it.

Taking a copy, and closing the account

Write to [email protected], one address for both requests, and say in the email which you are asking for: a copy of what the house holds, or closing the account. Either is carried out within 30 days.
